Prof. Matthias Storme is a Professor of Law at the University of Leuven – KU Leuven and the University of Antwerp in Belgium. At KU Leuven, he obtained a Dr. iuris in 1989 and a Lic. iuris in 1981. In 1982, he was awarded an M.A. in Philosophy from Yale University. Matthias also studied at the University of Bologna and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. Today, he mainly lectures on Belgian, European and Comparative Contract Law, International Business Law, Property and Civil Procedure, and Comparative Philosophy of State and Religion. His publications are mainly in the field of Belgian, European and Comparative Property Law, Law of Obligations and Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Legal History and Legal and Political Philosophy. Matthias is a practicing member of the Brussels Bar.
